Ingredients
1 cup water
2 Fresh Thyme chai black tea bags
1/4 cup dried apple rings, coarsely chopped
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup half-and-half, divided
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
Directions
- Place water in a microwave-safe, 2-cup glass measure. Microwave on high for 1 minute or until steaming hot. Add the tea bags, chopped apple rings, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and strain mixture through fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a medium bowl.
- In a small saucepan, combine the milk, 1/4 cup half-and-half, and brown sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until almost boiling and the sugar is dissolved.
- Divide tea between two serving mugs. Pour half of milk mixture over tea in each mug.
- Place remaining 1/4 cup of half-and-half in a glass jar with lid. Shake jar until half-and-half is frothy. Add froth to each mug and sprinkle with cinnamon.
