Ingredients
1 cup water
2 Fresh Thyme chai black tea bags
1/4 cup dried apple rings, coarsely chopped
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup half-and-half, divided
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
Directions
  1. Place water in a microwave-safe, 2-cup glass measure. Microwave on high for 1 minute or until steaming hot. Add the tea bags, chopped apple rings, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and strain mixture through fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a medium bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the milk, 1/4 cup half-and-half, and brown sugar. Cook and stir over medium heat until almost boiling and the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Divide tea between two serving mugs. Pour half of milk mixture over tea in each mug.
  4. Place remaining 1/4 cup of half-and-half in a glass jar with lid. Shake jar until half-and-half is frothy. Add froth to each mug and sprinkle with cinnamon.
