Ingredients
Fresh Thyme olive oil cooking spray
1 large egg, lightly beaten
â…” cup Fresh Thyme organic Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce, divided
½ cup quick-cooking rolled oats
½ cup finely chopped onion
1 tsp. Fresh Thyme garlic powder
1 tsp. Fresh Thyme Italian seasoning
¼ tsp. Fresh Thyme fine sea salt
¼ tsp. coarse-ground black pepper, plus additional for garnish
1 lb. 93%-lean ground beef
8 oz. Fresh Thyme bulk sweet Italian pork sausage, casing removed
3 ½-inch-thick slices fresh mozzarella
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking pan with foil; lightly spray with cooking spray. Set pan aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine beaten egg and 1/3 cup pasta sauce. Stir in oats, onion, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Add ground beef and Italian sausage. Gently combine, being careful to not overmix.
  3. Shape mixture into an 8×4-inch loaf on the prepared baking pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F. During the last 5 minutes, top with remaining 1/3 cup pasta sauce and slices of mozzarella.
  4. Remove from oven; loosely cover with foil and let stand 10 minutes. Garnish with black pepper and fresh basil leaves, if desired.
